Frequently Asked Questions
Brooki Bakehouse FAQs
The questions we get asked most — shipping, ordering, pickup, allergens and store hours. If your question isn't here, email orders@brookibakehouse.com and a real person will answer.
Ordering
How do I place an order for pickup?
Pickup orders are placed through the PICK UP tab in our online store. Only items shown in that catalogue are available for pickup, and the stores you can collect from are shown at checkout.
Bring your order number with you when you collect.
How do I place an order for delivery?
Delivery orders are placed through the DELIVERY catalogue in our online store. Only items marked for delivery can be shipped — fresh cakes, cupcakes and macarons are pickup only, because they don't survive a courier journey.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, up to 7 days before collection. A $10 admin fee applies, because changes mean rescheduling production.
Within 7 days of collection we can't make changes or cancel, as your order is already in the schedule and the ingredients have been bought. To request a change, email orders@brookibakehouse.com with your order number.
Do you take custom cake orders?
Yes. Every option we offer — flavours, colours, piping and messages — is shown in our online store, and we'll follow your choices closely.
Because our cakes are made by hand with American buttercream, small variations between two cakes are normal and we can't always reproduce an exact shade you've seen before. If you have something very specific in mind, tell us before you order and we'll be honest about whether we can hit it.
Do you do corporate, catering or wholesale orders?
We do. Cookie catering and corporate gifting are among the things we do most, from office deliveries to event boxes. Email hello@brookibakehouse.com with your date, numbers and location and we'll come back to you with options.
Shipping and delivery
Where do you ship?
We ship to every residential and commercial postal address in Australia. We can't ship to PO Boxes or parcel lockers, because fresh food shouldn't sit in one.
Internationally we ship via DHL Express to New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and the Philippines. We are not shipping to North America at this stage.
If your country isn't listed, it's because we're limited by the courier options available to us — we're shipping a freshly baked product, so we only ship where it will still be good when it arrives.
See our full shipping policy for details.
How much does shipping cost?
Australia: a flat $15 express, anywhere in the country.
New Zealand: from NZ$35.
Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and the Philippines: from A$50 via DHL Express.
Your exact rate is shown at checkout before you pay. International orders may also attract import duties and local taxes, which are set by the destination country and are the recipient's responsibility.
When will you ship my order?
We process and ship within 1–2 business days, and we send orders Monday to Thursday only. We don't ship on Fridays, so your order never sits in a depot over the weekend.
If you order after 8:00am on Thursday, it will ship the following Monday.
How long will delivery take?
Australian capital cities and major centres: 2–3 business days. All other cities and regional areas: 4–5 business days.
New Zealand: 3–5 business days. Asia: 2–5 business days.
These are estimates provided by the carrier rather than guarantees, and can vary with weather and road conditions. You'll get tracking as soon as your order leaves us.
Will my cookies arrive fresh?
Yes. We bake to order, pack for transit and ship early in the week so nothing sits in a depot over a weekend. Cookies travel well — they're at their best in the first few days and keep for around a week in an airtight container.
What happens if nobody is home?
In Australia, our couriers will leave your parcel in a safe place. If there isn't one, it goes to a local collection point for you to pick up. Because we're sending perishable food, we'd suggest an address that's attended during business hours.
International orders must be signed for on delivery. If nobody is there, you'll be contacted and a second delivery attempted the following day.
My order hasn't arrived, or arrived damaged. What now?
Email orders@brookibakehouse.com with your order number and a photo, and we'll sort it out with a refund or a replacement. The photo helps us work out whether it was the bake or the journey, so we can fix the cause too.
Please get in touch as soon as you can after your order arrives — with fresh food, the sooner we hear from you, the more we can tell about what went wrong.
Products, allergens and storage
Do you offer gluten free or vegan products?
We offer a selection of gluten free products in our retail stores. We're not yet shipping gluten free or vegan products, though both are in development.
Our gluten free items are made in a kitchen that handles wheat, so they aren't suitable for coeliac customers.
What allergens are in your products?
Our kitchens handle wheat, gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, tree nuts and peanuts. We can't guarantee any product is free from any allergen, and we're not able to cater to severe allergies.
Our allergen matrix lists what's in each product. If you're unsure, email us before ordering.
How should I store my cookies, and how long do they last?
Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. They're best in the first two or three days and good for around a week.
You can freeze them for up to three months. Bring them back to room temperature, then warm for a few minutes in a low oven — they come back remarkably close to fresh.
How long will a cake keep?
We make our cakes fresh and have built the recipes for longevity. A cake collected on a Saturday will still taste the same up to the following Tuesday, kept refrigerated.
Stores and hours
Where are your stores, and what are the opening hours?
We have bakeries and kiosks across Australia — Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, and inside Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth airports.
Addresses and current opening hours for every store are on our store locations page.
Do you have stores outside Australia?
Yes. Brooki operates in the United Arab Emirates, with stores in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah and a Dubai flagship on the way. A United States flagship is next.
Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?
Just turn up. Our stores are walk-in — no booking needed. Weekend mornings are our busiest time, so if you'd rather skip a queue, come early or on a weekday.
Payment, refunds and everything else
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards, along with Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout. In store we accept card and contactless payment.
What is your refund policy?
If your order is faulty, damaged or incorrect, we'll make it right with a refund or a replacement — email orders@brookibakehouse.com with your order number and a photo.
Because everything we make is fresh, perishable food, we're not able to accept returns or refunds if you simply change your mind. Nothing in our policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
The full detail is on our refunds and returns page.
Where can I buy the Bake with Brooki cookbook?
Bake with Brooki is 100 recipes written and photographed by Brooke Bellamy, published by DK. It's available in our stores, through our online store, and from major booksellers in Australia and internationally.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — Brooki gift cards are available in our online store and can be redeemed at checkout online.
How do I get in touch about media, brand partnerships or something else?
Email hello@brookibakehouse.com for media, partnership and general enquiries, or orders@brookibakehouse.com for anything to do with an order. Our contact page has everything in one place.
